The legendary Cubs vs. Cardinals baseball rivalry made its way to Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, IL, this summer, thanks to our customers at Springfield Lucky Horseshoes. The Cubs vs. Cardinals Legends Game is played annually to unite the Springfield community while raising money for local charities. This past August, in addition to watching Cubs and Cardinals legends such as Andy Van Slyke, Brian Jordan, Ray Lankford, Kyle Farnsworth, Jamie Moyer, Giovanni Soto, and Luis Montanez retake the diamond, Heartland Coca-Cola had the representation from our very own Springfield Area Sales Manager, Shaun Brady also playing!
Each player chose a local charity to benefit, and Shaun chose our partners at the Boys and Girls Club of Central IL. Other charities chosen were St. Jude’s, St. John’s Children’s Hospital, YMCA, United Way, and many others. The proceeds from the game were matched by Springfield Lucky Horseshoes and donated to various organizations.
“This event was a great way to support our customers, and I was honored to be able to participate,” Shaun said. “Seeing the community come out to support and help give back to local charities was exciting.” Shaun hadn’t played baseball since high school but held his own at third base and did a fantastic job representing Heartland!
