Every year around this time, millions of students are preparing to go back to school. In St. Louis, The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and The St. Louis Public Schools host the area’s largest back to school giveaway to help families prepare for the new school year. The Urban Expo and Back to School Community Festival provides more than 10,000 backpacks filled with school supplies and over 50,000 new pairs of shoes to area students and their families. Our Heartland team in St. Louis was able to participate in this year’s event by sampling products for more than 10,000 people attending the free two-day event. Throughout the day, there were dozens of people who stopped by our booth to thank us for supporting and being apart of the event. It is evident that Heartland is making an impression in the community, and it was special to see the impact we are having firsthand.
